WHAT ARE COOKIES, WEB BEACONS, AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Like almost all websites, we use small data files that are saved on your device (“Device”) to record certain information whenever you access or interact with our web services.

The names and specific types of cookies, web beacons, and other similar technologies used may change over time. To help you better understand the Controller's rules and use of these technologies, we list below some terms with their definitions.

  1. Cookie - Small text files (usually consisting of letters and numbers) that are saved in the memory of the browser or Device when you visit a site or view a message. Cookies allow a site to recognize a particular Device or browser. Cookies can be disabled or removed using tools available in most browsers. Cookie preferences must be set separately for each browser used, as each offers specific features and options. Below are the different types of cookies.

  • Technical cookies: these cookies come from the website being viewed and can be either permanent or temporary; they may be used to store information that will be reused on the next visit to the site. They can be useful to make navigation on websites faster and smoother (for example, they help facilitate certain procedures when making online purchases, when authenticating to restricted access areas, or in recognizing the language used to read information on the web). Depending on the service they provide, they can be temporary (removed from the computer when the browser is closed) or permanent (remain stored on the computer even after the browser is closed).

  • Profiling cookies: these are used to create user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user during online browsing.

  • Third-party cookies: these are installed by a site other than the one you are visiting. These cookies are sent to the user's browser by third-party companies for their own purposes, such as profiling, advertising, or social interaction.

  • Third-party cookies independent from the Controller: these are installed on your browser by companies and entities that are independent of the Controller, acting with their own purposes and independently from the Controller. These cookies, including social network cookies, are used by these companies to analyze user navigation, activity, and preferences and/or to profile them independently from the services we provide. Among these cookies, you will also find those from companies that adhere to the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau), the self-regulatory organization that develops standards and represents operators in the online advertising sector.

  1. Web beacon - Code snippets that allow a website to transfer or collect information through a graphic image request; they can be used for various purposes, such as analyzing the use of websites, monitoring activities, reporting on advertisements, and personalizing ads and content.

  2. Similar technologies - Technologies that store data in the browser or Device using local shared objects or local storage, such as flash cookies, HTML 5 cookies, and other web application software methods. These technologies work across all browsers. In some cases, local storage cannot be fully managed by browsers but requires management through specific tools.

COOKIE MANAGEMENT

In compliance with the directives of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 and subsequent amendments ("Privacy Code") and, in particular, its Articles 13.3 and 122.1, with reference to the measure for the identification of simplified methods for information and obtaining consent for the use of cookies dated May 8, 2014, and in compliance with the guidelines issued by the Data Protection Authority on June 10, 2021, you can modify your preferences and any consent given for the installation of cookies at any time directly through the CMP (Cookie Management Platform) accessible on the website. The CMP adopted by Simplex Domus complies with the highest international industry standards, as identified in version 2.0 of the Transparency & Consent Framework released by IAB Europe (International Advertising Bureau).

The Controller will appropriately track the User's consent through a specific technical cookie, considered by the Data Protection Authority to be a "non-intrusive" tool. Through the CMP, the User can revoke their consent and/or modify their options regarding the use of cookies by Simplex Domus at any time.

If consent has already been given but you wish to change cookie permissions, you must delete them through the browser, as indicated below, because otherwise the previously installed cookies will not be removed. In particular, please note that third-party cookies cannot be controlled in any way, so if consent has already been previously given, it is necessary to delete the cookies through the browser (dedicated section) or by requesting an opt-out directly from the third parties or through the website http://www.youronlinechoices.com/it/le-tue-scelte.
